Clientjoy is an all-in-one CRM platform designed to streamline agency workflows and empower businesses to manage their clients from prospect to payments in one single place. It goes beyond traditional CRMs by offering functionalities such as proposal and contract creation, client portals for real-time project updates, invoicing and payment processing, and communication tools - all under one roof.
Challenges
- Branded Keyword Dependence: Following the AppSumo campaign, 100% of search traffic relied heavily on branded keywords, indicating critical lack of organic search visibility. We weren't attracting potential clients who hadn't encountered the brand before.
- Unpredictable MRR channel: Due to the limited-time nature of AppSumo, Clientjoy's initial MRR might not have been sustainable. A strong organic search channel was lacking to provide a reliable source of qualified leads and contribute to more predictable, long-term revenue growth.
Our Solution
The foundation of formulating our strategy was to drive sustainable long term revenue through consistent and reliable organic means. Our approach unfolded in the following sequence of steps:
- ICP Identification: While we had established the ICP was agencies, we conducted in-depth research to identify lower hanging fruits. We identified 10-50 team strength Digital Agencies in North America as a cohort. Instead of doing SEO for all Agencies, our SEO focused only on this cohort.
- Building Topical Authority: Developed a content calendar focused on addressing specific industry-related topics and challenges faced by our ICP after analyzing top, medium and bottom of the funnel keywords.
- Content Strategy: Created a diverse range of content formats including informative blogs, e-books, resources, and downloadable templates, amounting to a substantial content library of around 96,000 words.
- On Page SEO Optimization: Conducted a comprehensive one-time audit followed by quarterly health checks to ensure optimal on-page performance.
- Social Media Presence: Crafted engaging social media posts tailored to Agencies on LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Repurposed blog content into visually appealing carousels for increased reach and brand presence.
- List Building and Drip Campaign: Implemented an email list building strategy with valuable resources for the target audience, complemented by a drip campaign to nurture both email subscribers and potential clients.
Results
Our SEO strategy skyrocketed Clientjoy's growth. Website conversions to signups reached 7.5%, with a consistent 11% month-over-month MRR growth. User satisfaction was high, reflected in a churn rate under 3%. This translates to a fast return on investment, with a CAC payback period of only 8 months. Overall, the implemented solution demonstrably strengthened user acquisition, retention, and revenue generation.
